Once again, let me introduce myself. I am Dr. James Rota, a practicing biological dentist and educator, with offices adjacent to the UCLA campus, where I was a founding dental school faculty member. We have sponsored TALKInternational.com for the past five years, with the intent to develop this website to form a global community alert and resource project. This action was motivated by my personal and professional life experience with the deadly heavy metal, mercury, common in our environment today.
My wife and partner, Dori, has joined me on this journey as webmaster and co-editor. Thirteen years ago, TALKInternational.com was formed to provide information for people involved in a lawsuit in Canada, regarding mercury in dental amalgams, and has since grown into an established resource for information and support regarding knowledge of mercury toxicity, it sources, and it politics. We are committed to our original intent to share with you with a link to information, awareness, leading to your acceptance or rejection of the issues affecting the health and welfare of this country.
You make up your own mind. May our minds be open, with a mutual respect for opposing points of view.
“Do No Harm Biological Dental Services”
In biological dentistry, there is a scientific basis for its practices and services. There is a tacit support system in place for “Do No Harm Biological Dental Services” based on scientific foundation, clinical documentation, and common sense observations that it is not a good idea to implant a known toxin in our body without consequences. We need a way to rethink the political arrangements or reasoning based on the irrelevant legal foundations to that which is “common and customary.”
Who knew that as a child playing with a vile of mercury over the years was responsible for many of my physical and psychological symptoms?
Who knew that as a dentist, I was spreading toxic contaminations to my patients and myself when I removed and placed thousands of silver/mercury/amalgams fillings over the years - without a mask, and without the protection protocols that are in place today?
Who knew that the mercury vapors from the heated drill were being inhaled and crossing the blood-brain barrier affecting neurological and psychological functions?
Who knew that over the years, mercury builds up undetected, undermining our health and well being?
As a young man, I can still remember the overwhelming bouts of fatigue that interfered with my professional and social life as I was always too tired to join in. When I did participate, I had to push myself. I remember it being so difficult to get out of bed in the morning, along with ongoing episodes of constipation.
For years, my physicians and I were treating the toxic symptoms of a degenerating process that highly compromised my immune system, making me more susceptible to the opportunistic bacteria, viruses, and toxins I was being exposed to on a daily basis.
Who was to know that the physicians were using conventional blood and urine test to detect the presence of mercury, which is unreliable in detecting chronic exposure?
Once we addressed the causes, the symptoms retreated. This brings to us to what is currently happening in Washington with our proposed Health Care Legislation.
We are asking the President and those elected to make decisions regarding the health issue to consider dealing with the causes of an epidemic of degenerating and infectious diseases that growing evidence is pointing the cause to be environmental toxic contaminations.
Our heath care crisis is real and has a direct connection to our financial crisis, along with the financial mismanagement and imprudent spending. If we are to control and affect the health of our citizens, we must put more attention on individual proactive health and develop prudent guideposts to achieve it. We must start to apply the scientific data and clinical evidence that suggests that we do all we can to control the toxins that we so innocently use in our day-to-day lifestyle - in particular, the mercury that is implanted in our mouth, that gets back into water, that gets into our plants, that gets into the fish we eat, and back into our already polluted body.
We ask that appropriate attention and resources be given to the causes of degenerative diseases in addition to the other workings of the health care system.
World Health Organization: Mercury is in our Mouth
According to the World Health Organization, the majority of our exposure is coming from the mercury implanted in our teeth. We are implanting mercury in children at a early development age, undermining their overactive immune system. The last 30 years has seen a threefold increase in the number of cases of childhood diabetes. When I was younger, diabetes was considered to be an elderly disease. Autism is the fastest-growing developmental disability with a 1,148% growth rate. Maybe we already know why.
Science continues to point an ominous finger at the toxins in our environment as a primary cause of this epidemic of unhealthy citizens. Focusing the majority of our financial resources on treating the symptoms of a disease process (allopathic medicine) is like “Calling a Carpenter when our House is on Fire!” It is no longer affordable - long or short term.
It would be wise for the FDA to respect the scientific information that is before it and alert the general public as to the cautions of mercury exposure.
We must continue to support the need for first aid medicine as we so adequately achieved in this country. However, we must place with equal dedication and devotion our need to address the cause and support a proactive system of empowering our citizens to achieve optimum health.
The idea of empowering people to take responsibility for their own health and providing alternatives to treating symptoms is a positive and necessary step toward improving our health care system. The alternative will not be affordable by the individual, employer and insurer, or government.
We must re-examine that which is “normal and customary” and apply changes based on scientific evidence, clinical evidence, and common sense. It is not a good idea to implant the second-most toxic metal on this planet in people's mouths, nor to use it as a preservative.
It is our goal to provide a place where the public can find information about recent scientific research and legislative events dealing with these issues and hear stories from patients that have been directly affected by the fillings placed in their mouths. We are not here to tell you what to do, but to provide the opportunity for options, alternatives and new ideas.
